I was looking through the Internet today as I do every weekday, when I came across a link that had "celebrity's without make-up!" DUN DUN DUNNNN!!! Oh gosh! HOW HORRIFYING! I started scrolling down and looking at the before and after pictures of many celebrities; all in which were female.
Now, I will admit that it's interesting to see what these women look like without an inch o' make-up puttied on their faces, but it was only women. We all know that men on the red carpet in fact wear some amount of make-up, not as thick as the women's, but you get the picture. Why were no men put on "the list" like the women? I don't know why, but it probably has something to do with how society thinks women should look. Among these faces were: Jessica Alba, Jessica Simpson, Eva Longoria, Goldie Hawn, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Jennifer Lopez. All these women have graced the cover of numerous magazines, some become goddesses of the silver screen, and familiar song-birds. Of course they look hot on TV and in the magazines! They pay people to make them look the best they can; not to mention the wonders of airbrushing. What I hated most about this list was that people don't take the time to think, well, this person is JUST a person like everyone else. They DO have wrinkles; they DO have freckles (which may I point out that that was something displeasing to the person who so graciously put the list together). Yes, they're rich and famous, but good God! They are made of the same tissues, organs, cells, etc., like all of us. People who think like that should be put into the same category as racists. Of course everyone would look 110 percent better if they had a professional hair and make-up artist and a professional stylist. But who wants that honestly? I would hate to have to look perfect everyday, it's just not my bag. Plus I like wearing my own clothes that I pick out. I say boo to perfection. Imperfection is what makes you look twice. It's unknown to the eye and mind. It makes you think about what you're looking at. Disorder is much more fun anyway! I think the worst one out of the list was how who ever put it together made a comment on Goldie Hawn for having wrinkles. WELL DUH! Looks like someone didn't have a V8 today! Of course she gonna have wrinkles! She's in her sixties! Ugh! I have wrinkles now and I'm only 22. Mind you they aren't as prominent as a woman in her sixties, but they're coming along right on schedule. Pray to God I never become famous, I would probably go to prison for manslaughter if I had people ridiculing me every stinking day for the rest of my life. So. What have I learned today? I have learned that 1. Men look don't need make-up as bad as women because they are perfect creatures (Obviously!), 2. No one should have wrinkles and/or freckles, and 3. I should not become rich and famous. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

No make up needed here , and thank you for the perfect creature comment i do appreciate it. I did see probably the same article only it was on people magazine i do beleive. I mostly agree with you. The main reason i like that they show those pictures is becouse it kinda puts those " perfect" beauty queens in there place. It lets them know that we know there not perfect.Kinda takes them down a peg if ya know what i mean. I know i sound negative but in all actuality its just an opinion of your everyday joe.Im pretty sure women like to see the pics themselves because it also reminds them that people arent always just born that pretty. Thats all i have to say about that.
Hey, hey, hey. . . don't fault men because the person who put up said photos didn't put any of male celebrities.
