Nevermind the Bollocks Here's the Scene

Posted Thursday, June 23, 2011, at 9:10 PM

Where are we again? Nevada? Yes, that is the place that we dwell. It is the place that we surround ourselves in. Not unlike Seattle, Los Angles, Nashville, and those other pocket music scene cities that have a rising awareness, and an outpouring of musicians and bands, Nevada has became just that. According to a compilation of statistics on the Internet mostly collected though Google, Nevada Missouri is the fourth largest music scene, per capa, in the state. It's hard to believe when you just go out walking around, but a very true statement indeed. Nevada has been the home to more than a handful of so called "Famous" musicians, as well as many successful regional touring, and another handful of national touring acts coming right out of our little music Mecca. Get excited folks because it's all coming to a venue near you, right here in your own neighborhood!

For those of you that are ready to experience the newly evolved music subculture will be exited to hear that this weekend you'll be able to experience the Oldies, Country & Rock band called Timberline on Friday night June 24. The band stars: Larry Applegate, Dale Lipe, and David Moses Byerly from the Nevada and Vernon County area, with a Springfield drummer named Dan. Timberline will be warming the hearts, and firing up the dance floor for listeners while performing at the Eagles Club in Clinton, Missouri. If you are not up for a drive then one could experience music on the home-front with the talents of Bob Campbell hailing from Ft. Scott Kansas, whom will be performing live at 8pm this Saturday night, June 25, at the Armadillo Sound Studio located on the East side of the Nevada Square. A small admission charge of $5 will apply at the door in which includes your choice of one FREE soda pop or a bottomless cup of coffee. A relaxing night of soothing country music from Bob will be a great way of finding out just how exciting our music scene can be.

Sincerely,

"The" Doug Harper
