The Search for the Perfect Big MacPosted Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at 2:29 PM
As I search for the perfect Big Mac I often find that my sandwich is inconsistent with other Big Mac's that I have eaten before. Though the sandwich has the same ingredients the taste is just not the same. This can be a mind-clearing example of a band or artist performance, and how one should not give up on a perfect sandwich, or a performing artist after only just one bite. I would like to encourage folks of the area to take a bite into the new music scene and taste it for the first time, another time, or take a new approach to listening to the sounds of the future! Now it's time to find those sounds!
There is not a whole lot to talk about on the home front this week because most of our local bands are working out of town. These are the events I believe are worth driving for.
On July 9th one can have a chance to experience some real hard rock music by taking a short drive from Nevada up to Caplinger Mills. The third annual River Front Resort features their Rock Fest! Four bands will perform this year: Fraught With Peril, Fiera, Break the Barrier & X-Afaw. This event in the past has been well attended and camp grounds are available. Other river activitees may include but are not limited to: great food, drinks, a good night of music, and the usual concert with rock fest shenanigans! The general admission fee is only $3 for a great time!
A Bikini Carwash and Spagetti Feed, is scheduled to be held every Saturday with weather permitting at the Chuggerz Modern Day Verterans Club in Sheldon. This event caught my eye and sounded pretty new and different for around here, and might prove to be fun.
Performances from Fraught with Peril, Alamo Black, and Archimedian Point & Funkee Noosa at Nathan P. Murphy's is a must attend event in Springfield Missouri. The event will be held Friday, July 15th at 8 pm, at the Nathan P. Murphy's Club. Please note the new Springfield city ordinances do not affect Nathan P. Murphy's so minors are still allowed to attend concerts there.
You will not want to miss out on the FREE Musician's Flea Market & Swap meet that will be held Saturday July 30th - 10:00 am - 6:00 pm in the parking lot of Butler Music at 103 W. Dakota Street in downtown Butler, Missouri. There will be a live band, a jam session, a live radio remote from KMOE radio, free water and soft drinks, product demos, and a special one-day only sale at the music store.
I'm assured that there are more so if you have one that I missed, just post a comment about it below and let everyone know! See you all on the scene!
