It's a small worldPosted Tuesday, August 14, 2007, at 1:52 PM
Daily Mail is an unusual but not unheard of name, but what are the chances that another community would have a Daily Mail and a Herald, and that the two would one day merge?
Well, it's happening. According to the Inlander, a trade publication for newspapers, the Morning Herald and Daily Mail of Hagerstown, Md., are merging, as of Sept. 28. The Nevada Daily Mail and Nevada Herald merged, but maintained two different publications, with the Herald a weekly and the Daily Mail continuing as a daily, until the Herald merged with the Fort Scott Tribune's weekend edition to become the Sunday Herald-Tribune. The newspaper in Hagerstown will put two dailies together, becoming the Herald-Mail. A cursory search revealed that Daily Mails are also in publication in the United Kingdom, in Charleston, W. Va., in Zambia, in Catskill, N.Y., Olney, Ill., and other locations around the globe. |
Exploring the obvious and the not so obvious in search of the oh, so elusive "something to do' that's all around us.
