Walk on the sunny side, the wild side...just not in the middle of the streetPosted Saturday, August 25, 2007, at 6:17 PM
Sidewalk: n: A paved path for pedestrians along the side of the road.
They're there for your safety, and for motorists' peace of mind. Nevertheless, some still insist on walking in the middle of the roadway. Not the edge. The middle. These folks don't even bother to get out of the road when vehicles pass! It's simply not safe. Please use sidewalks when you're walking in town; if sidewalks aren't an option, then please, keep to the side of the roadway. It's for your safety. I agree. I often walk with son in the stroller. If there are not adequate sidewalks, we walk on the correct side of the streets near the curb. I am always aware of the traffic around us. One of biggest irritations is when I am driving and people walking in the street do not get over so you can pass.
