Signs of the times

Every day, I see an inspiring message scroll across the Metz Bank's electronic sign in Nevada. Today it said, "complain because roses have thorns or rejoice because thorns have roses." The messages are simple little phrases that remind of little ways to be better people.
I'm reminded of a series of billboards that cropped up across the country a few years ago. Signed -- God, the billboards said things like "Don't make me come down there." or "You think it's hot here?" On road trips, you tend to see a lot of silly signs. Somewhere in Texas there's a Livelyville Cemetery, for instance. Seen any good signs lately> Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

I would like to know why the Web Site Controversy story taken down so quickly.
It was only up for a week, and no one had a chance to post anything on the subject. I could not even find the story in the archives. As far your fact check of the story, it was incorrect. The Victim's wife did in fact think that she was the beneficiary, you can verify this by calling his old military USAR Unit the 842nd Quarter Master company.
The Unit's Admin spoke to the Mother in Law numerous times in the days following his death, always asking if "the Army" was sure her daughter was not the beneficiary. I know because I too have spoken to the Admin.
Finally I wanted to let you know that his Unit is having a Memorial for him on February 23, 2008 at 1:30 pm. If you want to do a story about the Man's death then at least send a reporter to do a story about his life. Then you can verify that her mother did in fact call his Unit one hour after he was dead to get his insurance details (Servicemens Group Life Insurance $400,000 policy) and it was on that phone call that she learned she was not the beneficiary not before as the Sheriff stated in your article about the controversy.
I must apologize I was finally able to find the story "Web Site comments raise controversy". I have made my comments there as well!
