Citywide cleanup this weekendPosted Friday, April 20, 2012, at 3:48 PM
It's time for spring cleaning, and the city of Nevada's citywide cleanup day is Saturday; it's a bit different this year because the city is no longer involved in the management of the Recycling Center.
So this year, there are two sites where Nevada residents can drop off their unwanted items on Saturday. Anything normally accepted at the landfill will be accepted at no charge to Nevada residents at the Nevada Public Works site, at the corner of East Maple and Jefferson. Recyclables can go to the Recycling Center, at the intersection of East Locust and Colorado; and a contractor also will be at the recycling center to accept things like car batteries, cell phones, computer, appliances -- essentially anything that plugs in. It's a good opportunity to get rid of unwanted items, and at the city's site, people will be on hand to help with the process. |
