I might be a Redneck....Posted Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at 5:43 PM
I don't care. It's cool and I'm excited. It's one of those vintage cars they raced at Nevada June 23, and we're hoping to make the Aug. 4 Nevada race in it. Forgive me -- Tom's the racer and car guy. I just know it's a 1933 something or other and it'll be lots of fun. I've never been a racer myself, but I've always been a fan. Here's proof: One spring day in the early 1980s, Tom, a complete stranger, approached me in a convenience store and asked If I'd like to go to the races; I did, and so began the relationship that's spanned more than 26 years. We've had a lot of fun, and I'm sure sure there's more to come. He's sure having fun. He's like a 5-year-old with a $100 bill in a candy store. He even borrowed a rollback tow truck and took his new toy to work with him to show his friends. We're thinking of graphics that look like bullet holes to go with the car's gangster appearance; but it's probably going to be painted blue and white, at the request of our 8-year-old (just call him grease monkey. He plans on getting his hands dirty, too.) What do you think? Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

Sounds like fun! Nothing wrong with it. Life is dull if we do not do something outside our comfort zone. But it sounds like Tom & family is already comfortable
