I was waiting somewhere once and looking at the objects around me passing the time.
One of the items I had to look at was a standard fire extinguisher and the instructions really caught my eye.
In English, "Hold upright, pull ring pin. Start back 10 feet, aim at base of fire. Squeeze lever, sweep side to side."
Common enough right? But it was the Spanish that really piqued my interest.
"Jalar Apuntar Presionar"
That was it, three simple words.
I had a feeling I knew what the words meant and a quick Google Translate confirmed it. They translate to: "pull, aim, squeeze."
The whole thing tickled my funny bone. Imagining some poor soul standing and reading those detailed instructions while his house burns down behind him.
But we have a tendency to do that; complicating things which don't need complicating.
I'm a simple guy, and I appreciate simple things. But it seems to be human nature to make things unsimple.
Pull aim squeeze.
