Where's the heat?

Global warming, climate change, call it what you will, there is a huge disagreement over cause and effect of it. Proponents of the theory of anthropomorphic global warming claim man and his activities are solely to blame for the fact the earth is warming. Make no mistake, the earth is in fact warmer than it was a hundred years ago. Of course, what the AGW (anthropomorphic global warming) crowd forget to mention is that the earth was just out of what has been called the little ice age then. Temperatures were much warmer in the year 1000 than they are even now. The Vikings had an outpost on Greenland which was a success. Farmers there were growing crops and settlements were prospering. 300 years later they were gone. The earth had cooled so much that once fertile soil now lay permanently covered with snow and ice. Vintners in the north of England grew wine grapes and were as successful as the French at it. Even now you can't grow wine grapes in northern England. Mars is experiencing global warming also. Are the few landers that we have sent there to blame for that? I don't think so. The sun is the only thing the two spheres have in common. How much more likely is it that the one thing both share is responsible for the warming of both? Something else the AGW group don't consider is the fact that the earth produces huge amounts of flora and fauna that thrive in tropical climates. It is in the cold reaches of Antarctica and the Arctic that few species exist. Humans might be inconvenienced but we would hardly starve if the earth heats up. Better a rising sea level than an ice age. Another thing that AGWers are good at is fudging figures. The famous "Hockey Stick" graph that they show has been proven a fake. To get it they had to play jiggery-pokey with numbers. It just goes to show that Mark Twain had it right when he said "There are three kinds of lies: Lies, damned lies and statistics." AGWers make use of all three. Bring on the sun. Let it shine, let is shine, let it shine. Comments Showing most recent comments first [Show in chronological order instead] |

Good read, keep up the great work
I didn't proofread this first.
please forgive the grammatical errors.
A very simple means of questioning and validating ones own doubts concerning the claims of proof of global warming is to bring up the subject of a very simple tool we nowadays take for granted. It is the thermometer. It was first invented by Galileo in 1593, however it didn't have any accuracy until Daniel Fahrenheit invented the mercury thermometer in 1714. So, at best recorded temperature readings can only go back less than 300 years.
Temperatures were not placed into record books on a consistent basis until the 1850's!
At best our recorded history of world temperatures do not even go back 200 years.
These same scientists, climatologists, and other experts who also believe and teach that the age of the earth is billions of years old, and successfully inhabited by our own present day species of man for hundreds of thousands of years.
It does not take another scientist to extrapolate this information and show that they do not have any valid basis of historical evidence to prove their claims.
I liked your use of Mark Twains quote.
I have another quote for you, but unfortunately I don't know who to attribute it to. It goes like this,"There are three truthes, your truth,my truth, and the truth!
