Last week I wrote about Castle Argghhh, a blog a retired Army major writes. I got a comment from tabbykat saying they liked to learn about new places to visit on the Web. This one's for you TK.

For the first let's go across the pond and jump the channel. http://www.thedissidentfrogman.com/

Like you I like to find new places to go and new voices to consider. I've just recently found froggy because of a link from Castle Argghhh. It was the funniest video I've seen in awhile. There is a spew warning in effect for this video. Do not attempt to view this video with any excess liquid in your mouth. If you do I guarantee you that it will either 1. spew out your mouth. 2. exit your nose or 3. go down the wrong pipe and choke you to death. You've been warned, here you go. http://www.thedissidentfrogman.com/blog/link/like-...

Another place I like to go is Jewish World Review. There is a comic strip there unlike any I've seen in our local paper. It's called Mallard Fillmore. Mallard is a duck, a conservative duck. I can't think of much to say about conservative ducks so here's the link, go see for yourself. http://www.jewishworldreview.com/strips/mallard/20...

Another online comic, although maybe I should use 'graphic novel' to describe the content is Lackadaisy. Tracy Butler is an artist who has created a world composed of cats. Not your ankle-rubbing, furniture-shredding house cats but a bunch of jazzy rum-running cats from the days of prohibition. http://www.lackadaisycats.com/index.php

Since language is important to someone in my line of work I like to roam over to Wordorigins occasionally. http://p211.ezboard.com/fwordoriginsorgfrm1 There you can find where some word or phrase came from. Want to know where the phrase 'cold turkey' comes from. Someone there will know. Want to know how a mistranslation can kill you? Check out the discussion at http://p211.ezboard.com/Died-in-Translation-of-Oxa....

A good site to go for information on court cases is Casenet, which provides some information about Missouri courts online: http://www.courts.mo.gov/casenet/base/welcome.do

In navigating through the ins and outs of the Web I occasionally find myself in places I had no idea existed. Sometimes they are the best sites to visit. Did you know Theodore Geisel (Dr. Seuss) was a newspaper cartoonist during WWII? Neither did I. Now we both know better. Check out his work at http://orpheus.ucsd.edu/speccoll/dspolitic/Frame.h...

Do you Yahoo? Or is Google your search engine of choice? As Monty Python alum John Cleese would say back in the day: "And now for something completely different." I often use a search engine to look up some information for a story and they are all pretty much alike. Oh, there are differences but they still seem to blend together. If you would like to try a search engine that presents results in a unique way, try KartOO. KartOO features a visual display of results with responses linked to other, similar responses. Give it a try, you might like it. http://www.kartoo.com/

I liked your info. One surely would not get bored using your well-spent research

I got a blast with the bite bullet clip

Thanks Steve

Steve Moyer's response:
Thanks,

I try to find something a little different to talk about but I'm not terribly creative, I just do the best I can.

I'm always looking for subjects to write about so if you have some ideas, give me a shout.
