Here it is - your new Nevada Daily Mail Online.

I say "yours" because we have worked hard to ensure that this Web site was designed with you in mind.

We want www.nevadadailymail.com to be where you start to find everything you want and need about your community. We designed the site to be fully interactive with our readers.

Take a look around. We have some pretty cool features just for you, including the e-edition, the complete virtual Nevada Daily Mail you can flip through online like a real paper. Everyone with a paid subscription will be able to access this exciting new feature. The Nevada Daily Mail is one of the few newspapers in the nation to access this technology.

We also have the "You Spotted" and "We Spotted" photo galleries, loaded with photos of you, the community, and allowing you to upload your own photos as well.

Other aspects include the community calendar, keeping you updated on events, and allowing you to post events. Post your comments on our online poll, a story or one of our blogs.

Stay in the know by receiving daily headlines when you enter your e-mail address. You can even submit announcements and press releases.

The new site will enable you to follow standings of your favorite high school, college, community and professional sports teams and participate in sports oriented polls and blogs.

Also new the site is an Arts & Leisure page, filled with movie, book and music reviews written by our staff and stringers.

And since it's a community site, we also have community information such as schools, resources and utilities for anyone wanting to join the Nevada community. And coming soon, the Nevada Daily Mail Online will be host to www.VernonCountyJobs.com, a job search engine highlighting jobs in the Vernon County area. This technology matches employees with employers based on criteria. Employers can advertise their open positions and the technology will tell them which applicants are the most closely qualified for their job. Likewise, prospective employees can post resumes and search jobs.

So go ahead, you've already seen the blogs. Check out your new Nevada Daily Mail Online. Let us know what you think.

Your news. Your sports. Your photos. Your community. Your jobs. Your voice.

Start here.

I appreciate the efforts with the online edition. However, this new web page leaves a lot to be desired. The stories are not as evident as they were in the previous edition. The scrolling pictures on the front page is cumbersome and I am not able to read the actual story. Ther photograph of the blog author, Natalie Leeper is clearly a distorted photograph. That is very unprofessional. I do not find these pictures eye appealins and I even find them disdainful to look at this author's photograph.

The newspaper has gone from one extreme to another. This meaning that it was irregularly updated to now not being user friendly.
