Marching Cobras win Best of Parade

The Bushwhacker Days parade winners were announced yesterday, with several honors going to local entries. The top honor, Best of Parade, however, went to the Marching Cobras, a Kansas City team whose lively performance charmed the crowd during the parade. In the adult class, honors went to VFW Post 2175, first place; Wonderful Animals Giving Support, second place; and the Brush Beaters Jeep Club, third place. Honors in the business category went to Osage-Prairie YMCA, first place; Beisley's Oil Company, second place; and Candle Creek RV & Gifts, third place. In the youth class, winners are Pentecostal Assembly, first place; MOMS Club, second place, and Pine Street Baptist Church, third place. Special category winners are Frank and Pat Arnold's antique truck entry, first place; Larry Buckles's antique tractor entry, second place; and Brandon and Anna's 1949 Chevy one-half ton pickup entry, third place. In the Equestrian category, the Lady Bushwhackers, Debra Schuster and Trimleys Tiny Ponies were named as winners of the first, second and third place honors, respectively.
