The Calvary Christian girls volleyball team lost a heartbreaker to Plaza Heights at the Nevada YMCA on Friday. After capturing the first two games of the best-of-five series, 25-13 and 25-11, the Lady Eagles (1-2) failed to close out the match in a hard-fought third game. Plaza Heights hung on for a 28-26 win. Then, the Lady Lions of Blue Springs, Mo., won the final two games, 25-13 and 15-12, to claim the match. Calvary's junior varsity battled Plaza Heights to the wire in a best-of-three match. The Eagles (1-0) split the first two games, 25-16 and 20-25. With the match on the line, they fought off the Lions for a 30-28 win in the deciding final game. Calvary Christian travels to El Dorado Springs, Mo., for a contest today at 4:30 p.m.
