Calvary Christian splits openers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Calvary Christian Eagles girls volleyball team split a season-opening twinbill on Tuesday. Rally scoring (the offensive or defensive team scores on each possession) format was used in the best-of-three sets. In the first of two matches, both held at Eagle Heights Christian School in Kansas City, Mo., Calvary dropped games by scores of 25-8 and 25-21 to the host team. The Eagles rebounded to sweep two from the Outreach Christian Bulldogs, 25-16 and 26-24. Calvary Christian meets the Plaza Heights Lions of Blue Springs, Mo., at the Nevada YMCA on Friday at 5 p.m.
