100 Years Ago -- June 22, 1903 Nevada was complimented Sunday by a visit of a large number of good people of Iola, Chanute and Parsons, Kansas. The visitors arrived at 11 o'clock on a special excursion train and when the train arrived at Nevada there were between seven and eight hundred people aboard. The visitors after spending a short time in the city took the electric cars for Lake Park Springs, the now famous summer resort. Lake Park never looked quite so beautiful the visitors were just in harmony with the surroundings. The excursion train departed at eight o'clock carrying the excursionists to their respective homes.
