Understanding eagles

Cheryl Briggs of the Dickerson Park Zoo presents Phoenix, female bald eagle, to a gathered crowd at the Schell-Osage Eagle Days. Norman Murray, wildlife biologist for the Schell-Osage Conservation Area, was very pleased with the turnout of the event‚ around 530 attended on Friday and more than 400 attended by noon on Saturday. "It is incredible, we had over maximum crowds," he said. Murray said Eagle Days has a dual purpose. It is intended to introduce people to the charismatic splendor of eagles and also show them around the conservation area. "We are trying to turn people on to the outdoors," said Murray.
