WEBB CITY, Mo. -- Thirteen was very unlucky for the Nevada Tigers.

A 13-0 Webb City run late in the second quarter killed any Tiger hopes of capturing a Southwest Conference win this season.

Nevada went down to a 56-36 defeat at the hands of traditional conference rival Webb City on Friday.

Nevada (7-18) went winless, 0-8 in the conference, for the first time since the mid-'80s.

With Bryan Campbell scoring all the points, the Tigers took an early 7-3 lead and held an 8-7 first-quarter advantage.

With the score 18-15 in favor of the Tigers, things began unraveling and the Cardinals rushed to a 28-18 halftime lead.

Of the Tigers' second-quarter woes, coach John McNeley said, "In that stretch, we didn't make very good decisions once we broke their pressure. That's the time when you need to get your feet back under you, extend the possession, work to execute and get a good shot. We shot a couple of quick ones, threw a little fuel on their fire and they went down and converted on the other end and stretched it out."

Over and out. The Tigers never threatened again.

Campbell led Nevada with 16 points. Ben Wilson and Taylor Rainey added five apiece.

For Webb City (11-14, 6-2), Marty Rodgers led with 10.

Nevada opens postseason play on Tuesday against Odessa in the MSHSAA District 13 Tournament at Oak Grove, Mo.

The Tigers are seeded fourth in the six-teamtourney. Odessa is fifth.
