Medicalodges takes over local nursing facility

Wednesday, March 3, 2004

Medicalodges Inc., has announced that, effective March 1, the company has taken over operation of the Nevada Manor nursing facility.

This facility has been leased and managed by the Beverly Corporation since 1979. Prior to 1979, Medicalodges built and operated the facility as Medicalodge of Nevada. As of March 1, the facility will again be known as Medicalodge of Nevada.

Steve Branstetter of Nevada will be the administrator of the nursing facility, and said no immediate significant changes in the day-to-day operations of the facility are in the works at this time.

Branstetter and his family have lived in the community for approximately the last 10 years, and his children attend school in Nevada. Branstetter has been involved in the health care industry for several years, and has worked in several facets of the Missouri health care system.

Medicalodges Inc. began in 1961, and is based in Coffeyville, Kan.

The company presently owns and operates 25 nursing facilities, 11 assisted living facilities, and four home community based agencies, in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

Approximately 2,400 persons are employed by Medicalodges. In 1998, Medicalodges became a 100 percent employee-owned company, the only nursing home corporation in the nation that is 100 percent employee owned.
