The vacant Consumers building on East Austin Boulevard is about to have a new occupant.

Craig Hubler, city manager, announced during Tuesday's city council meeting that Orscheln Farm and Home is planning to open a store in Nevada.

Orscheln Farm and Home is a family owned business with 116 stores in eight midwestern states.

The Moberly, Mo., based company carries livestock feeding, health, automotive, hardware, footwear, pet food, lawn and garden and seasonal merchandise.

Hubler said that they hope to have the store open in about six weeks.
