A flood near Hume

The worst flood in years was caused here last night and yesterday by excessive rains. More than eight and one half inches of water fell in twenty four hours. Creeks were high and much damage has been done to roads and bridges. The new wagon bridge across Duncan Creek, south of here, was washed away. A St. Louis & San Francisco passenger train on the Rich Hill branch went through a bridge yesterday that had been weakened by the big rain. No one was injured.
