Kerry shows courage

Dear editor:

It occurs to me that this vicious attack on Kerry's early years is actually an attack on his life spirit. So far there is nothing about his political record as a politician or as an older human being -- just this rage-filled Vietnam stuff spewed forth by angry, bitter men. As a voter in the Presidential election, I am very concerned about this situation.

Maybe it's because I'm a woman who tends to focus on other people, but my focus is on how he would put into action his hopes and dreams. We all know that the President is only part of the country's leadership. Congress has been deadlocked or allowed a lot of stuff to happen. An example is the new overtime regulations and the unknown effect on working people and our economy.

No matter how I decide to support this election process, I believe that Kerry has shown a lot of courage in just continuing his public appearances. True, maybe he and his advisors didn't realize the depth of this personal attack. But he has stood tall and stayed in the public eye. I'm not sure if I would have enough strength and endurance. How about you?
