The Nevada freshman volleyball team accomplished something most teams only dream about -- a perfect season.

The Lady Tigers went through the 2004 campaign without any losses and without any ties, winning all 18 of their matches.

Tuesday the team concluded their season by doing what they had done all year, win.

Nevada beat Neosho for the 18th victory and a fitting end to the season.

"We had an awesome season," Nevada freshman coach Lisa Chaplin said. "This is a great group of girls. We are going to expect great things from this group."

Perhaps the most impressive mark was that Nevada did not lose a game in any match this season.

The closest anybody came to beating Nevada in a game was Webb City, which Nevada beat 27-25 in the first game on Oct. 12. Nevada then beat Webb City 25-21 in the second game of that match.

No other team even forced Nevada to play extra points.

The freshman were led Tuesday by Kristen Badgley's four kills and Emma Dryer's nine points.

Keeping pace with the rest of the season, the Lady Tigers beat Neosho in consecutive games, 25-11 and 25-18.

As part of the perfect season, Nevada won the Webb City freshman tournament, Sept. 11-13.

Nevada beat Aurora, McDonald County, Neosho, Webb City and Mount Vernon in the Webb City tournament.
