Charged with taking gasoline and coal oil
Chief of Police Moore has two boys in custody named Albert Armstrong and Russell Powers who were arrested charged with taking 25 gallons of gasoline and 10 gallons of coal oil from the Standard Oil Station near the freight house. The coal oil, evidently thought to have been gasoline, had been poured into the tank of an automobile but it failed, of course, to operate the car. Chief of Police Moore found the cans, which contained the gasoline and coal oil.

First color-TV program is viewed by Nevadans
An electronic milestone was reached in Nevada last night as a color television program was received here on the first color-TV set installed in the community.
It was perhaps fitting that such an event should take place as Nevada and Vernon County observes its 100th anniversary this year.
The event came about as the result of Mrs. Robert Carter, 511 West Walnut, winning an RCA color television set in a contest, sponsored by the United Super and Buy Way Food Stores in connection with Maxwell's Food Center, in Nevada an affiliate of the chain.
