Bronaugh falls to Golden City

The Bronaugh Wildcats lost in the semifinals of the Golden City Tournament Thursday, falling 51-34 against the host team.

Bronaugh had only two field goals in the first half, as Golden City took a 20-7 lead into the break.

In the second half things got a little better for the Wildcats, but they were unable to overcome the large deficit as Golden City advanced to the championship game.

Bronaugh will play in the third-place game Saturday at 5:30 p.m. against the loser of the Jasper/Dadeville matchup.

Tyler Judd led the Wildcats with 13 points, while Alex Gordon had 10 of his 12 points in the second half.

Bronaugh attempted only four free throws the entire game, all in the first half.

The Wildcats fell to 7-2 this season with the loss.

In other news, Bronaugh will make up their game with Montrose Feb. 3 in Bronaugh. The two teams were scheduled to play Jan. 7, but the game was postponed due to weather.
