Calvary Eagles fall

The Calvary Eagles and Lady Eagles both fell to Plaza Heights Friday at the Nevada Community Center.

The Eagles were in a close game until the fourth period when Plaza Heights outscored Calvary 26-14, extending a 41-40 third quarter lead.

The final score was 67-54.

Jonathan Hall had the hot hand Friday as he scored 30 points to lead Calvary. He was the only Eagle in double figures.

Kenny Rood and Scott Borders each scored eight points in the cause.

Rood had a solid all-around performance with four rebounds, five assists and five steals.

Borders also had five rebounds and six assists. Tyler Borders also pitched in with five rebounds.

The loss dropped Calvary to 7-5 this season.

The Lady Eagles also lost, 26-18.

Sha-Ree Chevalier had seven points, eight rebounds and four steals to lead the Lady Eagles.

Sarah Hall added six points and Rachelle Talley had five.

Talley also pulled down seven rebounds for the Lady Eagles, who fell to 0-9 this season.

Calvary played Overland Park Tuesday, and they will be at home Friday at the Nevada YMCA against Hope Christian.
