Two years ago prostitution was legalized in Germany and brothel owners were granted access to official databases of job seekers.
Because of welfare 'reforms' in Germany any woman, under 55, that has been out of work for more than a year can be forced to take any available job or lose her benefits.
To be fair to the Germans they did consider making an exception for brothels on moral grounds but they thought it would be too difficult to distinguish a brothel from a bar. I myself have trouble discerning the difference.
In a bar fully clothed patrons are served beverages by clothed -- minimally, at least -- servers. In a brothel neither the patrons or the employees are clothed and no beverages are served. How could anyone tell the difference between the two?
Germans, along with most of Europe and blue America have lost their moral compass and can't see, or won't let themselves see, how destructive that loss of direction can be.
Without clear moral boundaries society can't easily see where to draw the line on behaviors.
If society doesn't draw moral distinctions between serving food and beverages and providing sexual services where will it draw the line?
When will something be so outrageous that it draws condemnation from a society's leaders?
You can see the effects of this kind of moral blindness in the way people have equated animal welfare with human rights.
Since society has trouble drawing lines fringe groups, like People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, pop up and try to draw new lines, lines that only they see as relevant.
PETA and groups like it, Earth Liberation Front, Animal Liberation Front and so on are trying to force their agenda on society and in many areas of the world they are successful because when there is a lack of moral authority people look for something to fill that void. People want reasonable limits on behaviors, and failing to see those limits in the society they will join groups that have visible limits, no matter how strange they may be.
Europeans can condemn Israel for attempting to keep murderers out of the country but allow Germany to exploit women in the sex industry. I'm sure that we haven't seen the full depths of the depravity that Europe will wallow in.
The thing that Europeans better consider is the burgeoning Islamic population in their midst.
If Europe doesn't start returning to its Christian foundation it may well end up under Sharia law, with very distinct limits and far harsher penalties than they've experienced before.
