She was born and raised in Nevada and graduated from Nevada High School. She worked for a time for Key Clothing as well as working for many years as a sales clerk for convenience stores in the area. She was a member of the Latter Day Saints Church.
Survivors include two sons, Alan Fanning and Jeff Fanning, both of Nevada; 10 grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Simpson, Nevada, and Carl Simpson, Stockton; three sisters, Ann Collins, Hayward, Calif., Reva Fanning, Independence, Mo., and Wilma Hendrix, Nevada. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Overton; four brothers, Clyde Simpson, Floyd Simpson, Roy Simpson, and Dwayne Simpson; and two sisters, Ida Belle Smith and Marie Anderson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends 6-7 p.m. today, Feb. 11, at the funeral home.
