Robert Warren Gast II

Robert Warren Gast II, 59, Nevada, died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center, Pittsburg, Kan. He was born Oct. 12, 1945, in Nevada, to Robert Warren Gast I and Marjory Taylor Gast.

Warren was born and raised in Nevada, and lived virtually his entire life here. He graduated from Nevada High School and attended Fort Scott Community College and the University of Missouri Columbia. He was a member of the Moundville Methodist Church, the Nevada Elks Lodge No. 564 and the American Quarter Horse Association.

Survivors include Annette Moberly, of the home; his mother, Marjory Gast, Nevada; two brothers, Howard Gast and Donnie Gast, both of Nevada; one sister, Cindy Medley, Nevada; two nephews, Bryan Gast and Tyler Gast, both of Nevada; two nieces, Becky Hoselton and Jessica Medley, Nevada; one uncle, Roy Taylor, Nevada; four aunts, Helen Gast, Dorothy Tyer, Nevada, Margaret Scott, Fort Scott, Kan., and Amy Rice, San Jose, Calif.; and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Gast.

Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Private committal will be in Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
