Calvary Eagles edged by Faith on the road

The Calvary Eagles lost a close one on the road Tuesday, falling 47-42 against the Faith Falcons in Osawatomie, Kan.

Calvary was playing from behind most of the night, but never allowed Faith to pull away.

Faith started out quickly, grabbing a 14-7 lead in the first quarter.

Calvary battled back, closing the gap to three at halftime.

In the third quarter the teams proved to be evenly matched as the Eagles trailed by only one going into the final period.

Both teams picked up the offense in the fourth quarter but Faith was able to hold off the visiting Eagles.

Calvary was led by Tyler Borders, who had 15 points, 11 rebounds, five blocks and four steals.

Jonathan Hall added 10 points and five rebounds in the cause.

Scott Borders had eight points, five rebounds and four steals.

Devan Scougal scored six points and grabbed five rebounds, while Kenny Rood had three points and four steals.

The Eagles dropped to 10-6 this season with the loss.

Calvary plays again today as they travel to Shawnee Mission, Kan., to face the Shawnee Mission Mustangs.

Monday Calvary plays at the Presidents' Day Tournament in El Dorado Springs and they close the season Feb. 24-26 at the Missouri Christian School Athletic Association tournament in Joplin.
