Raining snow

Throughout the day on Wednesday, large, wet snowflakes rained down on Vernon County, disappearing in most places almost as quickly as it fell, with little but a soggy dusting of the substance collecting on buildings like the Vernon County Courthouse, above, and grass. Temperatures hovered above the freezing mark, but at times the slushy substance made for hazardous travel and slick roadways.
