Ralph Wayne Blevins, 84, Rich Hill, died Feb. 23, 2005, at his son's home in Independence, Mo. He was born on March 26, 1920, near Cowgill, Mo., the son of Rena Mayes Blevins and Ira Harrison Blevins. On Aug. 3, 1952, he married Mildred Louise Thomas of Lamoni, Iowa.

He attended Eureka Grade School and graduated from Cowgill High School in 1938. He attended Coin Electrical School in Chicago. He worked for Convair in San Diego, Calif. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942, maintaining and repairing trainer planes in Pensacola, Fla. After the war, he came to Rich Hill and began farming. He was a member, elder and co-pastor of the Community of Christ Church in Rich Hill.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred, of the home; two sons, Dale Blevins, Independence, Mo., and Dick Blevins, Lee's Summit, Mo.; six grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde and Lyndell; and a sister, Mildred Barnes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison and Rena; and a brother, Harold.

Services will be held Saturday, Feb. 26, at 10 a.m., at the Rich Hill Community of Christ Church with Raymond Powell, Leland Hursh and Rhoda Hoover officiating. Music will be performed by Carrie Blevins and Rhoda Hoover. Pallbearers will be Lucas Blevins, Joshua Blevins, Rex Blevins, Dennis Barnes, Ken Tillery and Randy Bell. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26, at 4 p.m., at Rose Hill Cemetery in Lamoni, Iowa, with Elbert Thomas and Dennis Barnes officiating. Music will be provided by Orlin Thomas. Pallbearers will be Charles Waddell, Orlin Thomas, Dennis Barnes, Lucas Blevins, Joshua Blevins and Rex Blevins. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Lamoni, Iowa. Arrangements are by Heuser Funeral Home in Rich Hill.
