Gladys Matilda Pyle Banks, 94, Nevada, died Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Moore-Few Care Center, Nevada, following a lengthy illness. She was born Feb. 28, 1911, in Walker, to Thomas Francis Pyle and Hattie Mable Dixon Pyle. She married Clifford Banks and he preceded her in death in July 1976.

She grew up in Walker, attended Nevada schools, and spent her entire life in Vernon County. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Community of Christ Church where she was active in Sunday school and the women's group.

Survivors include one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jim Pyle and Tom Pyle, both of Nevada. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert E. Banks in 1992; two brothers, Herbert Pyle and Claude Pyle; and two sisters, Bertha Current and Lela Porter.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with George Garwood officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park. The family receives friends Monday, March 14, from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may contribute to the Community of Christ Church in her memory in care of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
