Marjorie Nell Williams, 83, of rural Muscatine, Iowa, died Monday, March 7, 2005, at the Unity Hospital at Muscatine. The daughter of James and Nell Seehorn Boyd, she was born July 18, 1921, at Nevada. She married Paul Shepherd in 1940. He preceded her in death. She married Fred Matthews and he preceded her in death. She married Jesse Williams and he preceded her in death in the 1980s.

She graduated from Nevada High School in 1940. she worked as a nurse at the State Hospital in Nevada and later retired from the Muscatine Care Center as an LPN. She was a member at the Fruitland Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Shipp of Nevada; her son, James Fredrick of Rochester, Minn.; five grandchildren; 15 grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her three husbands; an infant brother, James; and a brother, Sonny.

The funeral ceremony for Marjorie Williams was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, at the Fruitland Baptist church, with John Brown officiating. Burial followed at the Island Cemetery, in rural Muscatine. A memorial fund has been established for the benefit of the Fruitland Baptist Church. The casket bearers included Jerry Shipp Jr., Michael Shipp, Russell Shipp, Jason Shipp, Jacob Shipp, Mike Shipp Jr. and Nicholas Sywassink. Honorary bearers were Ryan Shipp, Chris Shipp, Devin Shipp, Tyler Shipp, Tanner Shipp and Jerry Shipp Sr.
