Habitat establishes new Neighborhood Pride program

When you think of spring, do you think of outside yard work? Does your house need a fresh coat of paint? Are you ready to start, but know you will need help in getting the job done?

Nevada's Habitat for Humanity may have just the solution. The organization has started a new program christened "Neighborhood Pride," aimed at helping families make existing homes a better place to live.

Bob Beaver, president of the Nevada Habitat Affiliate, says, "The program is a new twist to the non-profits goal providing interest-free affordable housing to local families in need."

Rather than constructing a new home, the Neighborhood Pride program seeks to fix-up Nevada neighborhoods several houses at a time.

Beaver said, "Habitat wants to help Nevada homeowners with outside home improvements beginning this spring." Combining the homeowner's materials and assistance with Habitat's free labor, together we can make spring cleaning fun and rewarding, he noted.
