Viola Lea Adams

Viola Lea Adams, 87, Nevada, died Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Christian Health Care, Nevada, following a brief illness.

She was born May 24, 1917, in Bronaugh, to Andrew Jackson Mahan and Alberta Lea Nord Mahan. She married Clarence Kermit Adams on July 10, 1936, in Stockton. He preceded her in death on July 30, 1992.

She was reared in Vernon County and spent virtually her entire life here. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Community Christian Church, Nevada.

Survivors include four sons, Hubert Adams, Lamar, Leroy Adams, Kansas City, Mo., Joe Adams, Maryville, Tenn., and Don Adams, Nevada; four daughters, Dianne Richardson, Lebanon, Mo., Barbara Pierce, Denver, Colo., Viola Wilson, Las Cruces, N.M., and Sharon Schaeffer, Glencarbon, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 25, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Wes Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery in Nevada.

Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, today, between 7 and 8 p.m.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Christian Health Care Hospice in care of the funeral home.
