Youth Fair continues with Little Britches Rodeo tonight

The Vernon County Youth Fair continues to occupy local youth and adults alike.

Wednesday morning opened with the preparation of the horses, mules, sheep, market goats and dairy steers.

The mule show got under way at 8 a.m., horses started at 9 o'clock, dairy and goats got going at 10 a.m. The afternoon brought sheep exhibits, and dairy cattle.

By 4 and 5 o'clock facilities were made ready for the rabbit, poultry, swine and meat goat shows. With the swine weigh-in lasting from 5 p.m. to 9 o'clock.

At 7 p.m., it was the Ladies' Lead Show in the show pavilion with the "Judging of the Sheep," sheep showmanship.

Rabbits and poultry were due in place by 8 p.m., and swine by 9 p.m.

Thursday morning held more of the same with folks either showing or getting ready to show.

Steers were weighed-in from 7 to 9 a.m.

The "On Foot Judging" of swine carcass, swine showmanship, swine breeding stock and the judging of poultry was to begin at 9 a.m.

From 10 o'clock until noon the checking in of beef breeding stock and bucket calves took place.

At noon there was a tour for the Rotary.

Tonight activities resume at 5 p.m., with the judging of swine barrows and rabbits.

The evening concludes with the Little Britches Rodeo starting at 8 p.m.
