Charles Raymond Talbott

Charles Raymond Talbott, 69, of Lamar, died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005, at Barton County Memorial Hospital.

A life-long Barton County resident, he was born Aug. 19, 1935, in Liberal, to Raymond A. and Thelma O. (Timmons) Talbott. On June 9, 1957, at Newport Baptist Church, in Barton County, he married Linda Ruth Beavers.

He was an auto body shop foreman at Gilkey Chevrolet in Lamar. He was a member of the Barton County Achieving Wellness and Security, Lamar Lions Club and served as secretary/treasurer for 24 years. He was a deacon at the Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church in Lamar.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Talbott, of the home; one son, Tracy Talbot, Sheldon; two daughters, Tami Gray, Osceola, Mo., and Camma Sousley, Independence, Mo.; two brothers, Bill Talbott, Lamar, and Robert Talbott, North Carolina; two sisters, Betty Morrow, Salina, Kan., and Lola Culp, Lamar; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. His parents, and one sister, Jeanne Shaver preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 12, at Daniel Funeral Home, in Lamar, with burial in Morehead Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at 7 p.m., Monday, at Daniel Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Barton County Health Department or Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
