Barbara Ann (Hartley) Fuqua

Barbara Ann (Hartley) Fuqua, 74, Pottsville, Texas, formerly of Nevada, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2005, in Temple Hospital, Temple, Texas.

She was born Dec. 30, 1930, in Butler, Mo., to Alfred T. and J. Lavonne Kash Hartley. She was married to Robert E. Icenogle and preceded her in death on April 16, 1996. She later married Robert "Bob" Fuqua. He survives, of Pottsville.

Barbara graduated from Nevada High School in 1949. She was one of the first female border patrol agents, retiring after 23 years of service. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include three children, Gary Icenogle, Nevada, Mo.; Terry Lynn Haefel, Argil, Texas; and Mary Lee Hazelett, Fredericksburg, Texas; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Joe Hartley, Nevada.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Daughtree.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, at Riley Funeral Home Chapel, Hamilton, Texas, with George Tolbert officiating. Friends may call Friday afternoon and until 8 p.m., Friday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Mo. with Dale Stewart officiating.
