Shane Allen Cook

Shane Allen Cook, age 37, Sheldon, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at 8:20 a.m., in a local hospital after a lengthy illness.

Shane was born Sept. 11, 1968, in Cassville, Mo., and graduated from Lamar High School. He worked for as a volunteer with the Sheldon and Milo Volunteer Fire Departments, as a First Responder, and was an Animal Control Officer for Sheldon. Shane also was a bull rider for over nine years, and enjoyed the rodeo.

Survivors include his parents, John Oren Cook Sr. and wife Mary of Lamar, and Peggy Sue Cook of Neosho; fiancee, Misty Chadd of Sheldon; son, Timothy Allen Champion of Ft. Smith, Ark.; daughter, Tonya Chadd of Sheldon; step son, Pearl Lloyd Pierce of Texas; twins, Scott Edward Woods and Kristen L. Woods in Fort Mead, Fla.; adopted daughters, Jean Marie Saulters and Jamie Shanelle Saulters; grandchildren, Zanda Lee Saulters, Mandcassidy Saulters, Blake Purcell, Micah Purcell; brothers, John O. Cook Jr. of Branson, Mo., Terry Joe Cook of Springdale, Ark.; sisters, Tammy Jean Cook of Neosho, Crystal Michelle Cook of Lamar; stepbrothers, Charles H. Osborne and Dustin M. Osborne.

Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 16, at 11 a.m., in Parker Mortuary Chapel, Joplin, with Thomas R. Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Waco Cemetery with the Milo and Sheldon Volunteer Fire Departments serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Thursday from 6-7 p.m.
