Saw mill explodes near Bronaugh

The Jas Veatch saw mill explosion, which occurred recently near Bronaugh, was one of the most distressing catastrophes that has ever occurred in this county. Judge W.B. Marting was here Thursday, and from him the Mail learned some of the awful details of the explosion and the fearful results.

The force of the explosion was simply terrific and left ruin and death in its path. The saw mill was simply annihilated and only a few pieces of the heavy machinery remained and these were twisted shards torn in a manner that gave gruesome some evidence of the power of the terrible explosion.

The heavy boiler was hurled high in the air and came down with great force cutting down young trees, then striking the ground with such force it rebounded in the air and then almost buried itself in the earth.

The large steel wheels were twisted into almost unbelievable shapes.
