William "Bill" Alvin Burris, 54, Nevada, Mo., died Friday, Feb. 10, 2006, at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born July 3, 1951, in San Bernadino, Calif., to Oliver D. Burris and Betty Jean McCune Burris. Bill was reared in the Milo, Mo., area and lived around Nevada, most of his life. He graduated from El Dorado Springs High School. He was a roofer for several years and worked for Curtis & Sons Realty Company in Nevada.

Survivors include one brother, Walter Burris, Nevada; seven sisters, Jeanette (Kay) Gardner, Montrose, Mo., Diana Ward, Mt. Vernon, Mo., Jackie Marlin, Lenapha, Okla., Linda Stone, Milo, Karen Honeycutt, Licking, Mo., Joyce Burris, Pensacola, Fla., and Ada Hall, Milo; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Donald Burris, two sisters, Sheri Beth Burris and Betty Jo Stone.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m, Wednesday, Feb 15, at Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo, with John Nichols officiating.

Friends may call now and until 10 a.m., Wednesday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday between 5-6 p.m.
