Mother falls upon infant
MONROE CITY, Mo., -- Mrs. Benjamin Darnell, residing 12 miles south of this city, fainted upon arising from a chair Sunday afternoon and fell upon her 9-month-old child, whom she was carrying in her arms and crushed the infant to death.
She was alone in the house and it was several moments before she came to her senses. She then ran a short distance to a neighbor's house where she fainted again. She is suffering from nervous prostration and the physicians fear she will not survive.

Clarke paroled to his mother after guilty plea
David B. Clarke, one of two young Nevada men charged with burglary and grand larceny in connection with a Kansas nightclub break-in Feb. 11, pleaded guilty yesterday in the District Court at Pittsburg.
District Judge L.M. Resler said today that following the guilty plea he had paroled Clarke to the custody of his mother, Mrs. Gene Colson, Schell City.
Trial dates have not been set for Jim Huff, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Huff, and Gene Leroy Kell Jr., Augusta Kan., who are facing similar charges. Both pleaded not guilty in Pittsburg city court Feb. 13, and waived preliminary hearings.
The youths are charged with entering the 69 Club south of Pittsburg early on the morning of Feb. 11, and making off with a quantity of beer and some cigarettes.
