Friday, February 24, 2006

The Nevada Tigers will be taking on the Webb City Cardinals for the third time this season today, in the Class 4, District 12 boys' semifinals at Carl Junction.

Nevada (16-9) and Webb City (14-11) met twice in Southwest Conference play this year, with the Cardinals winning both of the first two meetings.

Webb City, the third-seed in the district tournament, beat Nevada 50-48 on Jan. 10, in Nevada.

The Cardinals then erupted for a 72-56 win over the Tigers in Webb City on Feb. 17.

Nevada, the second seed, got a first-round bye in the district tournament, while Webb City was forced to play a first-round game against McDonald County. The Cardinals beat the Mustangs Tuesday, 65-46.

Top-seeded Carl Junction will play Carthage in the other district semifinal game, preceding Nevada's contest.
