Carroll W. Coy, 58, Sheldon, Mo., died Thursday, March 9, 2006, at Barton County Memorial Hospital, Lamar, Mo., following a sudden illness. He was born Oct. 6, 1947,in Sheldon, to Croal Wendell Coy and Muriel Marie Burch Coy.

Mr. Coy was born and reared in the Sheldon, area and spent his entire life there. He graduated from Bronaugh High School in 1967. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam where he was a recipient of a Purple Heart. He worked for 38 years in the Lamar school system. He also farmed for a living and his greatest joy in life was his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Lamar.

Survivors include four sons, Matthew Coy and wife Angie, Sheldon, Mark Coy, of the home, David Coy, the state of California and Bo Justin Coy, Coweta, Okla.; six daughters, Christina Linville and husband Bradley, Lamar, Samantha Coy, Lamar, Ada Driggs and husband Gerald, Lamar, Patty Coy, Liberal, Mo., Linda Driggs and husband David, Lamar, and Sally Coy of the home; four grandchildren; and three step grandchildren; one brother Gerald Coy, Harwood, Mo.; and one sister, Christine Gillispie, Buffalo, Mo. He was preceded in death by one infant brother, Jimmy Ray Coy.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 14, at the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Lamar, with the Rev. Kenneth Musgrove officiating. Interment will follow in Howell Cemetery.

Friends may call now and until 4 p.m., Monday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. The family will receive friends Monday evening at the First Baptist Church in Sheldon, between 6-7 p.m.

The family suggests memorials may be made in memory of Carroll, to a charity of the donor's choice.
