Joseph C. Conard

Joseph C. Conard, 70, Nevada, Mo., died Friday, March 10, 2006, at Freeman Hospital East in Joplin, Mo., after an illness of several weeks. He was born Sept. 17, 1935, in Fort Scott, Kan., to Curtis Clayton Conard and Zelfey Elizabeth Waltz. He was married to Carole Ann Thomas Conard who survives of the home.

Mr. Conard was reared in Vernon County, Mo. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for many years as a foreman for Midwest Oil Company in Kansas City, Mo. He retired to this area in 1984, and spent the remainder of his life here.

In addition to his wife Carole, he is survived by three daughters, Carolina Williams, Wisner, Neb., Carole Hawn, Pittsburg, Kan., and Josephine Wallace, Clarksville, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marget Looney, the state of Oregon, and Elsey Robb, Harrisonville, Mo.; and one nephew, John Robb, Harrisonville. He was preceded in death by one stepson, Roy Mallette, and two nephews, Randy Robb and Clayton Robb.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with John Nichols officiating. Friends may call now and until the time of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
