Marshall resigns from bench

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., -- Judge William C. Marshall today tendered his resignation as judge of the Supreme Court to Gov. Folk to take effect April 1st.

Judge Marshall's reason for resigning from the bench is that he desires to practice law in St. Louis, where he was a most successful lawyer before being elected supreme judge.

Gov. Folk is not ready yet to announce the appointment of Judge Marshall's successor. It is said that the Governor may appoint Judge Woodson of St. Joseph or R. L. Goode, of the St. Louis court of appeals.

Plan to construct elevator

Rex R. Turk, speaking for the board of directors and stockholders of the Sheldon Grain and Lumber Co. Inc., has reported on the current progress of the company toward the building of a new elevator, restocking the lumber yard and starting operations.

The original 17 corporation members invested a total of $20,000 in the enterprise and formed the corporation with the assumption that as soon as stock cold be made available it would be offered to any one who wished to purchase it at $100 par value per share, with each share having the same voting power as any other share held by the original investors.

A contract with the Robers Construction Co., Sabetha, Kan., has been let for the construction of the elevator which will be completed in time to handle the prospective current small grain crop, pending the final approval of the Small Business Administration, which is expected within ten days.
