Milo Sutcliffe

Milo Dee Sutcliffe, 70, Joplin, Mo., passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at his home in Joplin following an illness of several months. He was born Jan. 6, 1936, in Hiattville, Kan., to Milo H. Sutcliffe and Willa Mabel Soward Sutcliffe. He and Sharon M. Boyd were married on April 18, 1976, in Nevada, Mo., and she survives of the home in Joplin.

Milo attended Fort Scott High School. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1954 and served for 12 years. He served 11 years at Camp Clark as an Artillery Specialist for the National Guard. In 1985, he retired from the National Guard. As a civilian he retired from the Supply Office of the State of Missouri in 1997. He attended the Maranatha Church in Nevada. For the past 10 years, he has lived in Joplin.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Sharon, include three sons, Milo Andrew Sutcliffe, Hermitage, Mo., Mark Boyd Jackson, Bronaugh, Mo., and Jimmy Dee Sutcliffe, Moberly, Mo.; five daughters, Crystal Stalheber, Halstead, Kan., Barbara Lea Stewart, Nevada, Libby Elise Pryor, Nevada, Julie Bee Gray, Nevada, and Sara Mae Nelson, Joplin; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Sutcliffe, Richland, Mo., and Donald Sutcliffe, Freeman, Mo.; four sisters, Sarah Alexander, Nevada, Dorothy Brown, Niangua, Mo., Izetta Person, Nevada, and Margaret Anderson, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mark D. Sutcliffe; and one brother, Ross Sutcliffe.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, July 3, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Interment will follow in National Cemetery, Fort Scott. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends 4-6 p.m., Sunday, July 2, at the funeral home.
