Eva Maxine Capelle, 75, of Fort Scott, Kan., passed away at her home early Tuesday morning, Aug. 8, 2006. She was born Aug. 15, 1930, in Nevada, Mo., the daughter of Warner Otis and Augusta Jane Van Loon McDowell. She graduated from Nevada High School, and moved to Fort Scott in 1949. She married Oscar Victor Capelle, Aug. 20, 1951, in Bentonville, Ark. He preceded her in death Oct. 9, 1996.

Eva is survived by her children, Mrs. Dale (Vickie) Lanham of Yates Center, Kan., Mrs. Mike (Debbie) Judy of Redfield, Kan., a sister; and Mrs. R.W. (Doris) Cullor of Fort Scott; a sister-in-law, Mona McDowell of Nevada; and three grandchildren. In addition to her husband Oscar, she was also prcceded in death by her parents; three brothers, G.O. McDowell, Bill McDowell, and Charles H. McDowel; and two sisters, Kathryn Hays and Ruby McConnoughey.

The Rev. Steve MacArthur will conduct gravcside services 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 10, at the National Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 9 a.m., and leave for the cemetery at 9:45 a.m.
