FBI says thug tossed acid

NEW YORK -- The FBI said today a hoodlum found shot to death here last month threw the acid which blinded labor columnist Victor Riesel.

They announced, too, the arrest of two men, alleged to have acted in concert with the dead man. The two were charged with conspiracy to obstruct justice.

The FBI identified the acid thrower as Abraham Telvi, 22, of Brooklyn, who and a police record dating back to 1949. His body was found on a lower east side street July 28.

At first it was believed he might have been a hit-run fatality. When a bullet wound in the back of his head was found, police theorized he had been a "ride" victim.
